They dress you in skin tight black gym clothes/cap, stick round bead type targets all over your body, and have you do all kinds of movements in a empty room with small cameras all around. They record your performance on a CD and send to your PD doctor for his analysis and info. I haven't heard the results of mine yet.
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member I've never had such a 'test' but I do have one session each week with my Personal Trainer! He observes all the movements I make as part of our flexibility, strength and balance programme and gives me advice and guidance as to how to retain these three key abilities. I find it very helpful and his encouragement is much appreciated.
My Neuro is Head of Emory University's Parkisons Division. He also is a trained Movement Disorder Specialist. I waited over 6 months to get to see him, but it was worth it. Even now, it will take me 10 months to see him again. My previous Neuro did nothing for me except for telling me I had PD. ,yet he came highly recommitted. I guess it takes all kinds.
It sounds like you have "state of the art" care. I can't complain about my neurologist but I do know some people who should have better and more informed physicians
I recently saw my Dr. And asked about the results of this test. He showed me the 27 page report he received and said it didn't reveal any thing new that he didn't already know. It showed what normal movements would be in a graph type fashion and then what my movements were. I think it was a waste of time and money, but I guess that's hind sight. I was wondering if anyone else has taken this Test ?
