Does Anyone Have The Urge To Urinate All Through The Night But Without Voiding Much Urine?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

My husband is up nearly every hour to urinate but it's usually difficult to do so and there may be little urine--yet he feels he must go. This is a constant I teruotion to sleep. Anyone else have this? Is it PD related?

I have Acid Reflux and IBS. One of my doctors suggested adding half cup of Bran Buds to my diet. That immediately solved my diarhea/constipation problems.

Saw Palmetto is a supplement which can shrink an enlarged prostate. Ask you husband's doctor about it!. If he become constipated you can you can have him take psyllium which is the ingredient in metamucil,

Check with a doctor. He may have a UTI caused by a Candida problem.

sounds like he is not fully emptying his bladder. this is quite frequent issue with pd patients. remember pd is a neurological issue, thus is effects the organs and their functionality. bladder is for sure one that gets effected. suddenly urgent need to urinate and then a trickle or unable to control the urge, everything of course can be treated with a medication. but see an urologist for these symptoms, in some cases people will chose to do a nighttime catheter so they can get sleep, so based on his needs and your doctors recommendation.

Hi Sterling, Thank you. An incontinent nurse would talk to you about what is your diet like and what drinks you have during the day. The nurse could suggest making some changes if needed in your diet and what and how much you drink daily that works best with your medication. The nurse should tell you about the incontinence aids that are out there to help people with this problem like moisture absorbing bed pads that go on the bottom sheet of the bed to protect the bed if there are any accidents during the night. These can be washed and best dried in the sunlight. There are incontinence pads and pants that you can buy from pharmacies and supermarkets to assist with this problem and when wearing these it bolsters the wearers confidence and self-esteem. These special aids are disposable and there are ones for women and men. Also they are easy and comfortable to wear and manage. The continence nurse will also inform you of some other possible solutions to this problem that would be more on the medical side. I hope this has helped a little. Take care.
