Does anyone gone to a Nero Physic Dr.? Did you take a test & how long did it last? We're trying to get in to a Dr. because of my husbands hallucinations. I heard it lasts 4 to 6 hrs. I wonder how hard it is on the person taking it?
Thank you for your service
Depending on symptoms determines type and length of exam. I was diagnosed in 2010 by my VA Neurologist. Initial Examination and testing took 3 hours with a follow up MRI where they found an occified menengioma or tumor above my right eye. Freaked me out, but he said it probably occured when I was wounded in Vietnam, and it poses no problem.
Examination and testing is continuous during treatment as your doctor needs to study progression and if any symptoms are getting worse. At first I did not have a rigidity problem, but now it's my primary symptom.
Testing is important and memory can be affected dramatically. You should be tested annually by your Neurologist.
Your last name Straub is my spouses maiden name. Her father now lives in Englewood, Florida and are were originally from Carlinville, Illinois
I'm a Clinical Psychologist retired. A Neuropsychologist will put you through a battery of Neurological tests. Depending on the extent of testing and what is being tested will determine length of time. If you feel fatigued most psychologists will test throughout number of days. If you feel fatigued or stressed at any time, let the examiner know.
I changed doctor's and the test varies for dementia only my cousin spent 4 1/2 hours, The complete profile takes 6 hours plus. They are standardized tests. The 1 part I did tested my vocabulary and there is words that I know most people cannot answer,
