Inflammation And Parkinsons Disease
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question đź’

Hi i have been researching Parkinsons and presence of comorbid inflammation. In looking back, i was dealing with inflammation issues through most of my life. Have you dealt with conditions related to possible inflammation in your body? for example: bowel issues, (such as chronic IBS) infertility, chronic muscle pain, mood swings, arthritis, diabetes, joint pain/damage,sciatica
im thinking there may be a connection ...see this article:

@ Isha, i had the usual GI issues (IBS< constipation,) until i changed my diet, radically, even thinking i was eating a good diet. But since changing it, ive become much more regular, and constipation even went away. mostly i dont feel like shit anymore..my joints dont ache, my mood swings have settled out, even my sleep has improved.. i purged my refrigerator and pantry; it was amazing to see all the ways sugar had been hiding in my food,I now eat salmon twice a week, fruits and veggies except those in the nightshade family (tomatoes, peppers) and brown rice or quinoa. I stopped comforting myself with food, and it has been really tough

I just have had to buck up and eat kale, spinach, chard, etc..and eat every 3 hours. i can taste my food again...:)

And now we know, 15 years later, so much more. I would prefer to call it "parkinsons syndrome" because while there may be a cluster of common symptoms, we all are affected differently. But now i know that the nonmotor issues are way more difficult to manage than the motor ones. PD is a Brain Disease!!

I admire anyone who wants to take more control in their lives. The meds i take help me to both feel and fu ction more or less as i should be able to at my time of life. I will take all the mecs i am prescribed because i would not function at all if i did not. I have had side effects and had adjustments made but i am still functioning very well.

I didn't realize how Parkinson's can effect your nervous system. I think that it effects every body system.

PD is a total body disease not just the nervous system!
