I was dignosed this past February. My tremors are bad when having off time with my medicine. I have fingers and toe curling. My PD affects my right side. Lost 15 pounds . Always tired . This sucks..
I was diagnosed a little ove two years ago at 50 but recognize that I had symptoms going back to when I was 45 or earlier.
Exercise has been the key to feeling better, along with taking LSVT BIG, which is like exercise. I have also tweaked my meds over time, from Sinemet to Stavlevo and now Azilect added. All in all, I'm better now than when I was diagnosed.
I was DX at age 27 but I has several symptoms since my late teens, tiredness, rigidity, burning sensation, trouble sleeping, speech problems, choking,a reduced right arm swing, balance issues, urinary toubles, fainting, pain, I lost 30 pounds...this fall,it will be 5 years since my diagnosis,my progression is really slow.Mainly, all my symptoms are the same.Generally, a YOPD progression in really slow comparing to patients with PD in their 50s -60s..
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member I find that the "off time" is greatly decreased and the fall off much more gradual (I have to set an alarm on my FitBit to remind me of the next dose). I also found my balance improved. I found the same incremental improvement with Azilect added.
But, we were all different. PD is such a heterogeneous disease.
In regards to Young Onset, here's a story about a women diagnosed at 20, https://rocksteadyboxing.org/about-rock-steady/...
This has been interesting to find out how different PD is with each of us. My PD seems to be progressing slowly but I have all the normal problems , sleep, tremor, towes curle, pain, stiffness etc. I do not have advanced simptoms, like freesing, or swallowing yet, Ii am not sure if we all have them at some time or not. My dad had PD and he had all of them at the end.
