Do our collective experiences agree with the science, which is basically now saying that Parkinson's is an inflammatory disease. That is people with PD are very sensitive to things which can cause free radicals, allergies, overheating, toxins in the brain and body. These inflammatory factors lead to further neurological damage in the brain, leading to neurodegeneration leading to even higher sensitivity to the inflammatory factors. A viscious circle or negative feedback cycle.?

Isn't it interesting? So many of us find that when the chips are down, we advocate healthy diet, proper rest, physical exercise et. al. - aren't those things we should have been doing all along? I am the first to agree "better late than never", but the irony of it all is that it seems to need a crisis to cause us to act.
There is a simple lesson here - why do we so often ignore it?
I AGREE less sweets and stress and more sleep. KOMBUCHA and Kefir and kimchee are a part of my diet and plant derived protein like tofu. I have lots more energy now going out each day on errands or to the pool. Today returning to nuts for snacking. Still taking Rytary and 4mg Neupro. Goal is to reduce meds if possible. And shed 25 pounds! I credit my neurologist for her support and guidance. And everyone on this website for exchange of ideas and strategies to fight this disease. Yoga and meditation daily. You can improve your posture even from a sitting position. Hugs to @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member and @HankEichum and @Dr.GarySharpe and @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member Yes pinpointing the triggers. Not sure where you live but here in rural North Carolina we get a number of tick bites each year. If you Goggle Southern Lyme Disease...well there are so many potential triggers of interest/concern when we step outside that Bubble.
I just wanted to take a minute and say, and you please explain this in English? I know that I am not the only one that has that same question. We are all different and will are all in different stages of Parkinson's. So lets choose our word's carefully. ( When I started to read this, I thought I was in a dream.)
Eliminating inflammatory triggers would be a fantastic idea...If I were up for living in a bubble...Childhood allergies have come back to visit...I follow ever step of avoidance and making my home allergen free...I am OCD clean, don't use harsh chemicals to clean but the factors still get me and some days take me down...I also work diligently to take care of my gut...I eat local and nutrient based...Note foods which don"t seem to agree and try all avenues I can get info on to a=make my world the best it can be for me...I think this is an interesting question and will be interested to see what others post...I have yet to figure out inflammation free!!!
