There is talk that there is a connection between H Pylori and Parkinson and that PD starts in the gut. If left untreated, H Pylori may affect the absorption of PD medications and the response to treatments. The article that I read says that two out of every three people have H pylori. Strange! Bean
Yes, I was tested last September when I was hospitalized for unknown reasons for internal bleeding. I findings were negative. However since I definitely had a bleed Johns Hopkins Hospital Geriatric Parkinson's clinic is coordinating my numerous medications.
Hi Ann50, got my information from the Parkinson Foundation Parkinson Report which I receive on a regular basis which discusses what is new in Parkinson research. It is very interesting. I make a donation and they now send me these reports every couple of months. If you are interested the phone number is (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators) (National Parkinson Foundation) Have a great day today. Bean
FYI Mary, many people do not know they have it. As I was researching it, I also found out that animals can also transmit the disease to humans. There goes my dog licking me in the face and on my nose! Can get it from dirty utensils at restaurants, from bad food or water or someone who does not wash their hands. Ugh Bean
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member what books or sites are you researching for this connection. It is very interesting.
I have not had this but it sounds interesting
Have a good week
Mary
