It has been hard for my husband to come to grips with this. He's visited my Rock Steady Boxing class and is super supportive and helpful. But he struggles with denial (that was me before diagnosis). He's starting to look farther forward now.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, I see a therapist every other wk for the same reason, able to unload and not have judgement for it. Although, I do admit, I have found the same atmosphere here on this site, and am very grateful for my fellow Parky's and their caregivers! I was on two antidepressants, cymbalta 60 and Prozac 30 but was so tired of not being able to feel anything. I still had highs and lows even on the meds and also not able to cry readily to relieve the stress valve. So, against all encouragement to the decision I made, I weaned off all pharma meds and am now taking HiStress B with C, Li-zyme forte, Mega Magnesium, and tramaline (sp?) also Vita A and Vita D3 and when I can get some exercise or alone time, I'm holding my own. Am now able to cry when I need to. Although I do deal with a trigger short fuse that I am not happy with. In speaking with my med/vitamin overseer, I said I thought I needed something to help curb my anger and potential outbursts, she said, "sorry, but there is no GRACE PILL" LOL how right she is! That's where my faith and ability to exercise and do something alone/enjoyable to 'fill my love bucket' that is drained from giving and not receiving. If my beloved knew how depleted I feel for lack of intimacy, he'd be so broken! Neither of us chose this, and I see no reason to bring it up to him. What I will say occasionally when he is standing (which is fairly rare) I will say, while you're upright, could you please hold me close for a minute, I need it. He never denies me that, thankfully. Cuz we do still love each other emotionally, just that sometimes it's not enough. :( Well, enough of complaining for now. God is my enough. God be with you too! Hugs!

My husband is on an anti-depressant Paxil which seems to help somewhat.
