Hi Joan seems like your doing everything that I would preach. I use to think like you and was reluctant to increase meds and believe me I understand about side effects each increase helps and I tell myself why did I not increase earlier. If your clear on the side effects ask for help or someone to act as your gardian angel i.e remove all access to money and try this for a set time and get others to monitor you and see if you get the urges that you will be worrying about eventuate, the drugs are there for a reason be honest and be careful.

I started on Requip 8 years ago
Then amantidne was added. In about 3 years
Just start Carba Dopa 11/2 years
Works for me. Cannot take Amantidne after 1 pm. Hypes me up. I sleep like a baby. Very active.

I was told that requip is safe to take providing you didn't have any previous addictions....for example if you were are a reformed alcoholic then you could return to your old ways....

I take 8mg of Requip at night..It seems to help but for some people there can be problems.. You might talk with your doctor about Azilect... For me it works well with my primary PD drug..which i just changed from Stalevo to Retary....

One other thing I thought I should add, is that sometimes the Requip can make me extremely tired.
