What Therapies Have People Tried To Deal With Sciatic Pain?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have tried acupressure and acupuncture. Neither worked. I need to be more active but it is impossible with the pain in my legs and buttocks. The only way I am pain free is when I am sitting down. I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis 3 years ago and PD 5 years ago.

Hi Wayne yes if I sit around I get pain also but I get up exercise and walk it off I'm suppose to get a cortisone injection every 3 months but I have had only one in October. Since that time I just try to forget about it and try to be as normal as possible. By normal I mean I do have to use a walker otherwise I fall. Even with a walker I have fallen because I wasn't being safe

I exercise that helps a lot. I also wear a back brace when it's bad. But most of the time exercising does it for me. Mornings are worse between hardly able to walk because of PD And pain going down each leg. Once my meds kick in I just try to walk away the pain in legs. 5 back surgeries are ridiculous. No more for me

just saw my neurosurgeon yesterday. He said the worst thing someone with. Back problem can do is NoT move. Being sedentary makes things worse. I have bulging disc in almost every level,of my back and a herniated disc at T-12. I decided against surgery and when I eventually go for it it will be just to removed the herniation. Most back surgeries just don't do anything beyond short term. I do lots of core exercises and focus on holding in my belly when I walk.
