My dad has started the treatment with Duopa lately. It's the mechanized pump that administers the medicine. Just wondering if anyone out there is or has used it. The thing we have the most problems with is stabilizing the case the little machine comes in. It swings or gets in the way. Anyone?
Yes! Please! My dad is on two cartridges a day as well. He doesn't always take his morning dose early enough so this leaves him weak in the morning. We struggle with getting him to take his meds on time. Do you have a special carrying case for yours? He got the vest but says it's hot. We're in Texas so... he has the cross body bag but it swings and gets in his way. He is fixated on piddling with it using belts and elastic to rig something up. Would be interested to know what you carry yours in and how you like it.
Yes, it does! Thank you!
Over here in Aussie we have 'Bum Bags" They get strapped around the waist area .....I alternate between that and the one around the neck which I put one arm through that stops the swinging.......Morning Dose. .....easy.... because the machine is literally my sleeping companion before I get up I tell it to give me the MD Hope this helps!
I am on a Duodopa infusion 24/7 have been on it for over 12 months now (April"16).... cartridge is changed twice a day I am still battling with getting the correct dose for myself. Dyskinesia never leaves me. I wake sore from the days before. I am aware that one of my problems is not being able to get co-operation and understanding from the kitchen in the retirement home where I live that I have to be on reduced protein for the evening meal and no protein during the day ..........May I add you to my team just incase one of us finds better help
We have a brochure with different kinds of holders for the Duopa machine. But thanks for the phone number! My dad is being really picky about it all! A little frustrating.
