h was sitting in my cae at a self storage facility in costa mesa whrn a copy rolled upand asked me whar i was doing, it old hiim i was charging my phone AND EATING MY LUNch. I told him i had parkinsons and showed himmymedical alert. He called tje paaramedics who rook a blood sample, mybkiood pressure and pulse/ e asked me if I nad any alciohol today. i reassured him i adn't. he said i seemed lithargic and he wanted me to tqke an ambulance to the hospitaland check m e out. another cop said if irefused to go hed arrest me for driviving under the infkuwnce...at e ospital they checked my heart, blood prewaaure, pulse, took blood, did a breathilizer test and sent me back to my car ina cab, Medical won;t cover the bill whcih is in excess of $3,000. should i sue the city for it>

I appreciate and echo what Harold said. I served 40 years as a peace officer, 10 as a Chief of Police. To ensure that you are not subject to any fines, you must have your doctor weigh in on this. The courts generally have limited time and understanding, not out of insensitivity, but sheer demands. You must be proactive in this matter by getting proper legal representation as well. A DUI is an absurd charge for this case. Hope the injuries are minimal and best of luck!
