Do You Ever Have An Issue With Balance?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was at Vanderbilt university today for a routine PD visit and I brought up the subject of balance. They told me to keep your dominant foot a half of step in front of the other. They also said if you have a freezing period think about marching. This allows you to focus on picking your leg up which takes your mind away from the freezing. Just some advice I was offered that might be useful.

Before my DBS surgery I also had trouble with freezing. My therapist told me to picture a line on the ground and I was to walk over it… Worked every time!

Counting and saying a cadence also helps with freezing. Another is taking a step backwards, the going forward.
