My husband who's 62 has been taking Roprinerole for 2 years. His dose is 24mg once a day. His behaviour is compulsive but he won't admit it. He works from home & can be in the office most of the day. He only has a tremor in his right hand. His look is very vacant, he's a bit stoopy & complains of backache but on the whole he is doing fine. Mowing the grass (we have a lot) No problems walking apart from being heavy on one foot. He buys lots of clothes but doesn't wear them. I don't begrudge him buying, he works hard but find it really weird he doesn't wear stuff. I tell him his behaviour is odd but he won't have it. He doesn't sit down to watch tv of a night time anymore. He's in the office or garage or garden. When he does sit down he goes straight to sleep. I recently found a text on his phone planning to meet a woman while I was away for the weekend. We haven't been intimate for 13 years. He just stopped one day & never spoke of it. He's not a talker, never has been. When I confronted him about the text he admitted everything & having sexual feelings & has been secretly watching pornography for the last 18months. I'm devastated & can't believe it of him. He has changed so much & feels like a stranger. He's seeing the Dr this week but I don't trust him anymore. I don't know what to do........we've been together 35 years. 2 lovely daughters & 2 beautiful Grankids. Our youngest daughter is getting married in 5 weeks abroad & I don't know how I'm going to get through. Think we both need help. Any suggestions?

Some PD drugs can have side effects like this. Call the doctor and tell him what's happening - that's the first thing. Or go with him to the doctor. This can't wait.

Please talk to the doctor and have him get off ropinerole better known as <a href="/treatments/requip">requip</a>. It almost ruined my marriage of 32 years, six years ago for the very same reasons you are describing

He’s got a Drs appointment today. He needs to start talking & being honest. I wake up every morning hoping all this is a bad dream. I hate Parkinsons. & what it’s done to us. It’s destroyed my marriage.

Have the doctor take him off this med immediately. He might not respond right away but he will I’ve been there for the compulsive behavior

My wife found out I was having an online affair. We talked and I told my doctor I wanted to quit ropinerole and why. He told me the ropinerole couldn't be the problem because I had been on it for over four years .
I weaned myself off of the ropinerole over a three month time frame and the compulsive desire to watch pornography and have sex with strange women disappeared.
Today my wife and I laugh about it, because we know why.I was doing it . Good luck and God bless
