What does it means you "seem to do better" mean? Does Sinemet make you nauseous? I was so nauseous when I started on it that my neurologist cut me down from 1 pill 3 times per day to 1/2 pill once per day. He built me up to 1 pill 3 times per day and 4 years later my PD is still mild. Everyone is a little different. Your body needs to adjust to the medication at its own pace. Don't get discouraged because Sinemet is considered the "Gold Standard" of PD medications. God bless you.
According to all the books my husband has gotten about PD, they state you should wait one hour after taking the pill, or one hour before to guarantee an empty stomach before eating your meal. So, the books are new and not old.
I am not doing the one pill only after all. I am taking it as 1.5". But I too told my husband the amount I was taking before moving to two was the one and and half of a whole of 25/100. I don’t feel good yet, but it takes time to.
Thank you for sharing Sinemet should be taken 1/2 he before eating i too was unaware if this just as i was unaware the importance that you MUST take them at the exact same time everyday, thankfully it was my physio that explained this to me.
I'm taking 3 pills 4 times a day plus a 25 mg. of Carbidopa. This has helped with the nausea and dizziness I was experiencing. The 4th dose of Sinemet was added at bedtime. It was too long from the after dinner dose until morning. After taking the Sinemet for a month I finally read the instructions (not on the Rx bottle) to take it 1/2 hour before a meal (empty stomach)
With my PD i realized there is no right or wrong with daily dosage. You need to experiment on your own until you figure proper dosage.
