After I was diagnosed with PD, I noticed thickened areas on one thigh that itched at times. My GP called them Lipomas, said benign fatty tumors, nothing to worry about. They are not really visible.
But recently I read of association between lipomas and PD. I had suspected a correlation between them, so I started looking for information. Apparently I was right. No one else in my family has lipomas, nor PD ...
My lipomas are on both sides, PD on only one side.
Mine don’t itch but can be very painful at times.
I believe I have lipomas, also. The doctors tell me they are nothing but fatty tissue, . And, they ARE very itchy at times. I have a fairly large one above my left breast, close to my shoulder. And, I have a number of lumps in my right breast, which are larger than the one below my left shoulder. I have had mammograms and they say there's nothing wrong
Thanks for responding . I left 2 links to sites (there are many) where I first learned of the connection. I wish the lipomas could be removed and, like magic no PD anymore! Fat Chance! Take care everyone...
Mine are also on my PD side, and never noticed them until a year or two after pd diagnosed. So strange. Mine can be felt, but not really seen.
