After 6 years have been diagnosed with postural instability gait disturbance subtype PD. Would appreciate info or experiences with this subtype of PD?

I think I have this subtype. Can't walk straight, need cane (and sometimes a rollator), fall easily. Physical therapy with a PT who knows PD has been very helpful (you could do the Big program, too).

Know the feeling. I compare my foot problem to stuttering . I have to tell myself big steps.

Are you talking about Halt of Gait Syndrome? My husband has this, unable to initiate walking at times. Especially in crowds or in areas of congestion like doorways or narrow hallways. He is also unstable on his feet(balance issues). Uses Carbidopa Levadopa just like other PD folks to treat it, however it progresses. Is getting PT to work on balance issues.
