Hello, my fiancee’s Mom (who lives in Kerrisdale) has Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s and has had a significant cognitive decline in the past six months. It's very difficult...and expensive... to have a 'live-in' caregiver. Unless someone recommends a person to you specifically, I would be reluctant. I attempted 'at home' caregiving for my husband during my hours at work...the women stole from me and it did not work out. I quit my job...and within a few months my husband's health had changed so dramatically that the doctors told me nursing home care was my best option!!!
I have a caretaker from the Department of Aging and disabled services here in texas...they can offer help for home health services...is there an agency that will help you out? Do you have insurance?
