What Symptoms Does Carbidopa-Levodopa Treat?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

My husband has stooped posture, muscle rigidity, oily face, weakness on right side, back pain and walking difficulty. He has bladder urges especially at night and constipation, but he doesn't have a tremor. He didn't start taking this medicine last year because I heard it can cause you to start having tremors. Does anyone else take this medicine even though they didn't have tremors???

You'll need to drive him anywhere and any time he wants, if you are able to drive. It is an awful loss of independence. I KNOW. I'm a Parkie and it's the one thing I have a terrible time reconciling. Develop patience. You'll both need it.

I am on Carbo-Levo since April 2019. I also take CBD oil. I also go three times a week to Rock Steady Boxing. Now which of the three is helping me the most I cannot say, but since April, I am better in some ways.
Constipation is a steady factor. My soreness and rigidity is better. I still have "down' times, though not as often as before.
MY weakness is on my left side, which remains about the same
Balance is a big deal for me, but I am working on it every day

I am Blessed

Hopefully he start to improve now he has started the meds. Parkinson’s is much more than just a tremor, I had no idea that what I was experiencing was related to PD until I was diagnosed and started to research. I was in sHock and denial too, it’s definitely not what I expected to hear, but it did give the answers to my symptoms.

What meds has he been prescribed.? I was diagnosed in 2016 and have no tremors. The meds make me feel so much better, my thinking is sharper, I’m more active and my body just works better .
I’ve also had to use the bathroom multiple times during the night, there are meds to help.
Maybe check back with the neurologist if it’s been awhile since the last appointment, and just let him know about your concerns for your husband and that he hasn’t started the meds yet.
Take care , and let us know how things are progressing.

My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in August of 2018. He has MANY of the PD symptoms but to this date has not had tremors and has been taking Carbadopa/Levadopa 25/100 3 x a day since his diagnosis.
