Have you even heard of these diagnoses? They can be associated with PD or other neurological conditions. I'd like to know what others have done that helped or didn't help. My symptoms are aggravated by standing erect, which I can only do for about 3 minutes unless I am leaning on a walker or shopping cart. At that point, my abdominal muscles go into painful tight spasms that can last 8 or more hours. The diaphragm also goes into spasms. Wow! dpnancy. I can't even imagine the pain that you are going through. I take care of my husband and I know that he can't stand up long either. He has to definitely always has
to have something to hold on to. I feel so bad for my hubby that he has this. There really needs to be a cure soon. dpnancy, I sure hope you can find a way, whether personally or medically to get some relief. There are so many different types and symptoms of PD that it is sad. My husband has tremors, voice problems, falling, and walking sometimes severe stiffness. Prayers for you and all who deal with such a disease. It breaks my heart, especially to see my husband suffer and all who deal with incurable diseases. But only God can give us the answers.๐๐๐โคโคโค๐ผ๐ผ๐
Have you had you PT check the way use walling sticks, i thought i was using right but she made some adjustments and showed me some new techniques and it made world of difference and the wheelchair is back in storage and even some days i can do with one walking stick. Be careful with shopping carts you tend to lend forward onto handle but to have someone else push or use small drag along ones.some supermarkets if you explain your situation will lend a person to assist you shopping.
With my husband I noticed that using a cane or walking actually has him bent over. It's hard enough to walk with the stopped posture. I re entry got him a walker that lets him stand up straight and lean on his forar.s. It helps with the back pain (he has had numerous back surgeries) just a thought
I've seen a tall walker that helps keep body upright. I have also investigated a rigid brace. I'm not mentally ready for more equipment partially because I think I'm in denial or disbelief that it is happening. It's been 18 months since I had back surgery which I assumed was the cause of forward lean and muscle spasms. I think it was about 2 months ago when I realized I wasn't ever going to get better. It seemed so sudden to be ambulatory and then all of a sudden needing a wheelchair.
Cute answer but you know I'd only get as far as the front desk. He wouldn't even know I called.
