There's always something simple that becomes a struggle with this condition. Post a pic of a gadget or tip you have used or are aware of but not yet tried to help others.
A litter picker. You can get light weight ones. If you drop keys or something.
You may know all these but if not check em out.
Check out Sherryl Klingelhofer on YouTube she has great videos of exercises specific for Parkinson's. She is fully trained in Movement for PD, Tai Chi and others. A great PD resource
Dr Sarah King is a really good physiotherapist and well being coach. She has lots of great advice.
Curtis Adams is a Personal Trainer who works with people in the Senior age groups. Find him on Youtube. He caters for most abilities and includes sit down exercises which are good for many with this condition.
Music and Comedy are great Complimentary Therapies and so is having a pet. It doesn't have to be a Cat or Dog, there are small furry creatures that are rescued and need homes. If you think you may be able to manage a small animal with needs, time and money for food and vets check local centers, tell them what you are able to do and offer and they will advice you if they think a good idea or not. This is just a suggestion not advice but animals can really help with this condition.
When I read the lead-in to the ad for this pillow, it really was irresistible. I looked for it again, but couldn't find it. This little old lady (like me) was having all sorts of health problems. Finally in desperation, she remembered the amazing pillow she got from her yoga master decades ago. She found the pillow. It was ugly and seemed uncomfortable. She slept on it anyway and it did give her a quality sleep, and improved her concentration and productivity drastically. Her mental and physical health improved, her depression and anxiety dissipated, her memory and cognition improved, her body aches and pain during the day were alleviated, the stress on her spine and muscles was lessened, the pain in her neck, shoulders, back, and hips was relieved, she stopped having unwanted blemishes and skin irritation, allergies and asthma, and she stopped constantly readjusting her sleep position throughout the night and staying up all night tossing and turning, trying to find that sweet spot. Her mind and body were able to experience the deepest stage of sleep (REM). She woke up feeling refreshed, well rested, relaxed, and rejuvenated. Understand that it was 4:00 am by now and I hadn’t slept all night. Besides, my ropinirole was urging me to buy it. I did. It works. It is also hypoallergenic, cool and adjustable to my body and to any sleep position. In fact, it is 3 pillows in 1, and when I found the small size suited me best, I gave my husband the remaining 2 in 1 pillows, giving him the medium size. He loves it and misses it terribly when it is in the wash (which it rarely needs unless one of our little male dogs sneaks into the bedroom and marks it as his territory). This is the one wee hours impulse buy I will never regret. I think it was around $60 for 1. I didn't let my ropinirole talk me into more than 1. https://try.sleepnowpillow.com/
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member - I clicked on the link you shared with us and it took me to the checkout screen for a purchasing website. Is that really what you intended to share with us? I was surprised when a small rectangular orange icon appeared briefly in the center of the screen. (No, I was Not hallucinating!) Was it a camera taking my picture? (Yes, that is a paranoid way to think!) At any rate, if you would ever like to edit or delete a post here on the MPT website, just click or touch the white down arrow in the little orange circle at the upper right corner of your post and you will get the options to edit or delete that post.
I've been meaning to put in the last 2 gadgets that make life with PD easier for me. The first one is a cylindrical cervical pillow I got from a chiropractor. It has an indentation all the way around in the middle of its length. When I lay on my side I put it between my knees. When I am on my back or sitting up, it goes under my knees. When I am on my stomach (rare), I put it under my hips. It makes a Big Difference.
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member - It works, and my husband loves it too. I just ordered 1 pillow, but since it is 3 in 1, there is enough for each of us to have a pillow.
And No, that hunk on the pillow is a professional model, not my husband, although my new husband Is younger than me and has a beard...
