DBS Self Programming
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

For those of you who have DBS, Do you change any of the settings yourself? I have the Abbott system with the settings at 2.5. My neurologist told me to play with the settings to get maximum relief, but I'm just not sure. Thanks for any info you can share.

I'm not familiar with that habit hardware, but I have had Medtronic and Boston Scientific. They both allow the doctor or programmer to set an acceptable range. So if your program is set at 2.5 the range might be 2.2 through 2.8 and would allow minor adjustments. I find it takes a while to determine and I don't recognize immediately whether I'm satisfied with the new Setting until I tried it several hours or days.
