Hi, This is what I copied when looking up your Velvet Bean question: The seeds of the Mucuna pruriens plant are known to naturally contain levodopa, also known as L-dopa, at high concentrations of four to seven percent. It also contains hallucinogenic tryptamines, phenols and tannins. Its substantial L-dopa content is the main reason why it’s used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. PLEASE know that I copied this from the internet and have no proof to its message. It is interesting and I will look into it more.
