Shingles are painful. Other than pain medication, I do not know what would ease the pain. Ask your doctor for a topical pain medication. I am very reluctant to take pain meds but do use the topical. It works within minutes and lasts about 3 hours. (My only warning is my little dog loves the taste.)
I also take Gabepintin (spelling is wrong). This med is not as addictive as a pain meds, and it targets nerve pain.
I wish I could tell you something that.would help you get complete relief. Shingles are quite painful
