PD And Body Temperature
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have always been a little more heated up (body internal temp) than most people but could deal with the hotter external temperatures. I have had PD since 2004 and my internal temperature seems to be hotter than ever before. I can't stand my over 60 degrees (F). Anyone else feel like me. Also, my skin seems sensitive, almost like a light sunburn.

Having pd definitely makes some of us sensitive to heat extremes.

My girlfriend Angie gets Sooo hot And then it takes forever for her to get cool poor thing she has a very hard time when we go to the store so also has severe anxiety but wearing the mask and being in the store she just gets so hot And sweaty seems to be getting worse she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s about seems like a year and a half but we think that she’s probably had it for at least four.

I agree. My body internal temperature has gotten hotter. I like the AC set lower than my husband so we have a bit of a battle but soon we compromise. I too have found my skin is more sensitive to the touch, plus I have to turn the water cooler than normal to wash my hands and shower. I thought it was an aging thing, I never equated it to my Parkinson’s

I am just the opposite. I seem to be getting cold lately. I put on a jacket so my family can remain comfortable.
