I take about 1300mg per day for pain, with the dose split between morning noon and night. The doctor said that is a small amount. I take other pain meds too. Gabapentin has never caused me any problems.

I used gabapentin for my back for a couple of years before spinal cord stimulator was implanted. I took 1200mg three times per day, which is a huge amount. For me, it worked wonderfully for nerve pain. I honestly don’t know whether it would help for PD. I would think so, but everyone is different. It can cause weight gain and constipation, so beware of those side effects.

Vicki, That must have been awful. So sorry to hear.

I understand that Gabapentin is really helpful to some people. But it causes me to hallucinate. So that is on my list of allergies.

Thank goodness they gave that to mr while i eas in the hospital. But it wass frightening
