Decline In Progression Of PD
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question đź’

Is it necessarily true that a person diagnosed with PD at 79 years old will necessarily experience health decline, or will PD always result in declining health? Can someone with PD remain at a certain stage without progressing into declining health? My husband has been diagnosed about 2 months ago. His experience for the past several years has been balance issues and more recently hand tremor. Other than that he is stable with no changes taking place.

PD is a lifelong and progressive disease, which means that symptoms slowly worsen over time.

The experience of living with Parkinson's over the course of a lifetime is unique to each person. As symptoms and progression vary from person to person, neither you nor your doctor can predict which symptoms you will get, when you will get them or how severe they will be. Even though broad paths of similarity are observed among individuals with PD as the disease progresses, there is no guarantee you will experience what you see in others. Read more

JOHN gray, of the Venus and Mars series says that he used nutrients to get better. Pre-Corvid I found that exercise was better than anything but DBSand I was better after a year of it. Without the gym I have regressed.

I agree with Jud. It's different for each of us, but the decline is something we need to accept. Rumor has it that the tremors may level off, but that is about it. Luck to you.

You need to talk to his neurologist about that.

My husband does not get light headed. He tells me when he stands or walks, he feels as though he is walking on a rocking boat. But no light headedness. The meds he takes does help somewhat with the tremors.
