Does Anyone Else Have Eye Problems?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

In the last year my eye sight has been getting harder to deal with… my husband likes when I read to him usually when we study Christian subjects. I use to be a very good reader but now my reading is not smooth. I hesitate a lot & it is hard for me to listen to myself. My husband is good about it and encourages me. My eye doctor says my sight is 2020. But I can’t see to read. My eyes get blurry & I can only see if I close one eye. I lose my place skipping lines or reading the same one over again… read more

I found that I can't see to read without readers at night. Its as if my eyes won't focus. I also found out that eye doctors know nothing about early symptoms of PD. I told mine I had depth perception issues and he just said age, turns out it's an early sign!
We learn by trial and error!

Debra ,
I take so many pills & I hate it. I have nOH too which means my BP is so erratic that I go from super high to really low in the same day. Actually today was one of those really bad days.
I workout 4 days a week & I’m noticing I am progressing faster than I thought I would. I was diagnosed 4 years ago but can look back & see that I had it back as far as 2010. Yes laughing is a must!! Sometimes when I get j discouraged I watch old sitcoms like “cheers”, “everybody loves Raymond” “Bob Newhart”, “Mary Taylor Moore” or something else that is funny. They don’t make sitcoms like those anymore. I start them all at the very beginning & just watch the next episode when I need to laugh. It helps.

Debra,
Oh yes, Sally slipped my mind. But then lots of things “slip” my mind these days. My train of thought has left the station without me!

Thank you so much. My appointment to meet the surgeon is not until December. Grrr. But will be well worth the wait. Did you put the eye drops in yourself after or did you have help? My husband’s hands shake worse than mine and he doesn’t have pd. My daughter lives too far away.
I want to make plans about what to do.
