Reddish Feet
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

My feet
from toe up to sock level has transformed into reddish color for more than a year now. My internist doctor prescribed me water pill to drain excessive fluids from my body. But nothing came out. Cardiologist tested me for heart echo exams and test my feet
if blood circulation is ok all test were normal. Cardiologist believes my discoloration was due to my neupro 6 mg medication for many years. Did anyone have the same symptoms like mine?

My husband has had purple toes on and off for several years, and, I, too, at one point thought it might be Covid-toe! When he stands and walks, even for 5 minutes, it usually resolves. Keeping feet warm in thick toasty safety socks with rough bottoms for safety helps a lot with this along with movement reminders. As for the shin area, since the beginning, he has had brownish skin there. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I am hoping the dermatologist will be able to shed some light on this. No other doctor seems to notice or be bothered by it, and I keep forgetting to ask about it. It seems so extreme at times. He also gets brown dots here and there, similar to moles. Then they just seem to go away....

Cardiologist prescribed me knee-high compression sock. Tried wearing a few days. My feet was purple color before, now reddish. I guess it is slowly improving.
Thanks MelindaL for sharing your experience. I though my symptom was a reaction of covid vaccine with my parkinson medicine.

Yes I noticed that about a year ago one foot had like a sock look that was red, colder but not always. Doctor did all the tests too could not find anything. It has since stopped being discolored but still occasionally cool.
You're the only other person that has mentioned it I've not found it on the internet

I have the same thing. My feet and halfway up my legs. They have done every test out there Can’t find any reason. It looks terrible. I had this before covid, so can’t blame it on that. It won’t kill me Dr said.
It’s hard to believe not one Dr knows.

I'm on Neupro patches 8mg. The only side effects I have is the patches itch and sometimes it burns. Otherwise they work really well for me.
