Sinemet
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

If I take an additional dose of Sinemet I get strong Dyskenesia. This is Usually at night when I can’t and the half Sinemet has worn off.
Is there anything I can take to stop this happening and allow me to get some sleep?

I go med-free at night. That allows me to take my meds closer together during the day. The tremors stop when I'm asleep anyway. The only problem with this is that when my bladder wakes me or when I get one of those "Zing! You're awake!" moments at 2:00 AM, I sometimes turn into a human earthquake at a Richter scale of about 7-8! I keep about 3 glasses of wine within reach of my pillow, if needed. I don't fight the insomnia, but enjoy my quiet alone time when all around me are asleep. I listen to the trains, read a little, write a little, and put syllables & pitches to the first morning bird calls (Too-loo, cherry Wit!) Even insomnia can be a Joy of life.

I love hearing someone else loves using the quiet time of insomnia to listen to the trains, read, and the first morning bird calls. I haven't tried practicing the calls then but might start that. I do that in the evening when I hear the birds calling. I try imitating them and then look up what bird it was. The quiet is amazing during the night, isn't it?. Crossword puzzles also are good mind stimulators that I enjoy and track my success and dates as a challenge to myself to improve. I did 350 in the last year (in ink) missing 0-7 letters per puzzle averaging 4 for the book. I think that is not a bad average. I remembered the words used for certain clues making it easier for me to be successful. The quietness of night allows me to focus on correct answers too. No one interrupting me also can be nice. Thus, insomnia is not all bad, is it?
