I used to have a PT who did acupuncture and other treatments that I can’t remember the name of, but they did appear to be effective. I asked her exactly what it did and she spouted some mumbo-jumbo about the Chi and all that. I think it’s more likely that those needles are being stuck in the nerve pathways and are able to interrupt the signal that is telling your hand to shake. There should be more study done in these procedures. They do actually seem to produce results.

There is a kidney Dr at a nearby hospital who says that scalp acupuncture cures PD. I Went to a local acupuncturist once. She did not know scalp acupuncture. I did not notice that it helped any.
But I did look it up once for a question on Michael J Fox's Parkinson's Buddy Network. This is what I found:

I haven't done acupuncture since diagnosed but in the past anything regular medicine couldn't help with, acupuncture did. Was amazing for things like vertigo, sciatica nerve problems, neck problems. But just like chiropractic or other specialties, depends on the provider. Ask people in your neighborhood.

i love the results of Chinese medicine. My P.T. Told me it reduces inflammation and moves it through your body. Haleakala Haleakala! This helps with my stiffness 😁 Its a miracle. Rosie 🙂

Chinese medicine is totally different from western medicine with many good results. I had acupuncture for bad migraines by a homeopathic doctor after seeing several neurologists, taking meds, and having thousands of dollars in tests. It cured me! I have not had a migraine in over 10 years and am grateful. If it works, go for it!!
