My husband has been on the Rivastigmine Transdermal patch for over a year now and we can really notice a difference in his cognitive ability when he isn't on the patch. There are some hallucinations but he had those before and they don't bother him.
My husband with PD's movement disorder specialist and sleep doctor just switched him to this patch after a few years on Donepezil. His MDS was worried about the cost but his Medicare advantage plan (Humana) covered all but $4 for a month's supply. He just started four days ago. So far, so good. I was really scared because Donepezil 10 mg was really helping his dementia. But he hasn't shown any dementia symptoms on the Exelon.
It costs us almost nothing!
Our health system is so much better than yours.
We have a health card where all meds cost $6.80.
So cost not a question. We have not had cognitive
ability measured!
Too disheartening for us all.
We will know if patch is working!
Much love to you all
Husband see Doctor in Hershey Pa. We tried patch for 4 months. She said she saw no notable change and told us to stop. With insurance cost to us was in the hundreds. I used GoodRX still paid $100 per box. But still better than blue shield
