It depends what method is used to diagnosis the PD. Until fairly recently it was just a series of tests performed in the doctor’s office, and seeing how you responded to PD meds. Now there is a scan that doctors can order. That, of course, means you wouldn’t know until it was done and read by the doctor.
As to the quality of life, that will be ( and/or mean ) something different to everyone, and will change with time. I can tell you that these are my thoughts about it. Get a good doctor you trust and listens to you, get some daily exercise ( even just a walk ), learn about your meds and take them correctly and on time, and lastly, remember that no one ( with or without P.D ) is promised tomorrow, so don’t worry about it, and enjoy every minute of today! I am not on meds yet but I hope to be soon,and all I know is that if meds. don't help, I can not go on, with the quality of life (zero) I have now. I need some totally honest, encouraging words. Thank you. Karen
