My husband did the program and never did the home exercises either. Just has no interest in much of anything. He needs the Big again as when he tries to take walks he ends up going so fast with little steps he falls. Getting over a black eye now and cuts on his face from falling on the sidewalk. Lucky he didn’t break a bone. Won’t let me walk with him.
Early on in my husband's PD, he took the big and loud and it made a dramatic difference for him. His voice was weak and low, and he was able to go back to singing in the choir and even announcing the music. He had started the shuffle step and was able to step right out after the PT. The only problem was he was doing so well that he neglected to do his home exercises and did not take the later recommended "reup". It is a time-consuming program, four times a week for four weeks, but in my husband's case, well worth it. So, I advise you to try the program and give it your all, following the recommendations of the Big and Loud therapists.
Power for Parkinson's is a YouTube channel that some wonderful ladies that go through exercises we can do to improve our condition check it out.
My husband shuffles a lot when he walks and stumbles as well tripping over it and falling more and more. I just don't know where to start for anything to help my husband. We have done some therapy but no change for the better only progressively gotten worse in a short period of time. I have been reading up on different things trying to take it all in. But as I read and study on one issue another comes up. Now we're upping his meds and still nothing. Thank you for both of your answers we appreciate it very much
There's not much help here in MI. But I'll try and see what I can do or my wife to help get something going.
