I am in my early 60's, was diagnosed last year, but have probably had it for at least five years now. I am taking a holistic pill regimen that it helping. I did not do well at all with what my neurologist gave me in September.

Yes. Interesting because I am a drug and alcohol counselor and I educate on tolerance to alcohol and drugs. This is true with Parkinson's drugs too. They become less effective and your tolerance builds up. It takes more of the drug to get the same effect and then over time with the side effects are worse just like alcoholism. I think the answer to this is to keep moving as much as possible, diet, and sleep are so important also. The least amount of medication I can get by with is the best for me. I have many side effects to medication.
