Requesting Your Comments On My Balance Issue. TY
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

After walking short distances, I often feel that I have to walk faster and faster to maintain my balance. My husband has to quickly guide me to keep me from falling forward. I can't slow down on my own. Comments appreciated.

I like the way Dale describes “ get over our feet”. Its a weird experience but the description resonates for me.
The big step helps to change my center of gravity. If i bend my knee a bit with the a big step it helps sturdies me more.

Try using walking sticks. I have an issue with balance also and by using the sticks I am able to walk at any speed with out falling

Les, have you contacted your MDS Neurologist about your balance? You should be going to a physical therapist to work on your balance issues.

I even do that with my walker. I'm so afraid of falling.
