Does Anyone Post DBS Surgery Have Extremely Sensitive "zinging" Feeling At The Wire Site Behind Ear And In Neck, almost Painfil Tingling?

Wire behind ear and side of neck, after four months feels like a live wire. I don't think it is nerve from scar. Rather an electric feeling. Perhaps this wire is too short? Thanks for any input.

Am finally going to go see the surgeon because the zinging and little shocks have gotten worse. Will let you know what he says. Thanks!

MD says it may go away. Or not. I looked into if it could be a "lead fracture". Doesn't seem so. Not sure. Will keep you posted.

Hi, Sterling. The zinging is a type of burning tingling pain perhaps. Like when you hit your funny bone (elbow) . Not as severe
. Constant, though, unless i move my neck in a certain way which would not be possible to hold for long. As you can see, It is hard to describe.

Thank you very much for your reply ,Carlton. It is good to know I am not the only one. I am not crazy, and this may go away. I will say the wires do not like this -15(at least) degree windchill. They're cold. It's cold out and my symptoms feel worse. Much worse. And it could all be worse.

I have had that issue as well. Another issue I am having is a burning sensation at two stops on the top of my head were it appears wires come together. The wires have a small connector just under the skin. I used to feel like I was being shocked. The skin over the wires has turned brown in just the two spots. My neurologist and neurosurgeron that did the DBS surgery say everything is okay, nothing to worry about. The electricity feeling is gone. Yet the burnt spots are still there. Nearly a year after surgery.
