When I was first diagnosed, I was asked (and still am asked) if I am in any pain from my condition.

At the time, and up until recently, I was thankful that my condition hadn't presented this pain.

Unfortunately for several weeks now I have been getting pain in my right hand side - leg and especially my arm. I'm often struggling to lift my arm up to shoulder height without it causing me uncomfort.

I can describe it as exactly how you have stated. More commonly, it's like a dull ache, but when I need to "use" my arm, I get the "shot in the arm" feeling immediately.

When I'm experiencing this, lowering my rigid arm also becomes just as painful.

I'm not a "vain" person, and often see myself as just a regular guy. Having said that, I had become pleased (well, accepting) of my physique. I was also quite "happy" with my chest pecs and hard-earned 6-pack, having battled to turn my once beer-keg belly into a shape that I was proud to expose topless on the beach.

However, I have noticed that keeping my "appearance" is not as easy these days. I'm also losing my right hand side pec.... making it look like I have just one man-boob😂.

As for the pain.... well, it came as a bit of a kick in the guts to me, and made me realise just what all my fellow parkies had been describing.

Just another "blow" to deal with!

Still fighting!

Regards to all my friends on here, and the ones who I haven't yet had the pleasure to chat too.

Russ.

My husband has never complained about pain. He had very little pain medication with his broken hip. However he has started saying he has pain in his shoulder. I have been having to do most of the lifting in transferring him from bed to chair and back for the last month. I am thinking it is the pressure I put on his underarm when I lift him. Tylenol helps but I don't know any other way to lift him.
