I was told by my ophthalmologist that dry eyes are because PD patients don't blink as much as other people. To prevent the inevitable discharge from the eyes, She suggested putting a warm wash cloth on your eyes last thing at night and first thing in the AM. I also have artificial tears which I use on occasion.

Same thing happened to my hubby and he was given drops to moisturize his eyes!

Last year I had to get longer glasses so that my bi-focal fields could be lengthend due to tremors for everyday use and I was also prescribed a second pair of reading glasses .

I too have problems with eyesight. Over the years I have spent a fortune on glasses which have not given me consistent help. I realized a few years ago that my eyesight seemed to vary as my PD symptoms altered during the day. And from day to day. I proved this by going for an eye test on three consecutive mornings at the same time and on the same drug regime thus reducing as many variables as possible. Result three different prescriptions, One pair had a prism fitted in one lens, one in both lenses and the third no prlsms at all. Confused I asked neurologist to refer me to hospital consultant who said my brain was. Ignoring messages from left eye which had been a lazy eye since a childhood accident. this was causing me double vision. I have tried glasses with prisons which assist when being tested in the perfect light as found in opticians test room. However if I wear them all the time my eyes soon feel strained. Although not ideal I find that closing left eye when reading or typing etc stops the double vision which is always worse close up.

my eyes have gotten worse. My eyesight has always been bad. About 25 years ago I had RK surgery and my vision was almost perfect. I knew it would worsen as I aged but it didn't until about 5 years ago. Now when I go to have them checked I have to buy new reading glasses. They have a prism in the lenses. They are expensive and after about 6 months, my eyes start to blur when I read. My eye doctor said its the PD.
In my opinion, when one thing gets bad and I try to get it fixed, another part of me starts to have another problem. All thanks to PD!
