My mother has been suffering from Parkinsons for over 15 years now and has been experiencing a severe increase in dementia, short term memory loss, paranoia and delusions. She is convinced that everyone is working against her, and that my father, her primary caregiver is having affairs and is trying to get her taken away. Has your doctor considered that the delusions and other s/o might be related to Lewy Body Dementia? I recently read that the two diseases are related. Good luck and God bless you.

I am always amazed and filled with awe at what the caregivers experience.. This ugly disease takes POWs like no human enemy could ever ever dream up. Your whole family must be hurting so badly. I'm so sorry. I will pray for you

yes, I have. That might indicate several other problems in addition to PD...or other forms of the disease. that we don't understand so well. There are a lot of reason's drugs don't work; you might want to talk to your pharmacist. Doctors can't always keep up. Is there another place she can go until things calm down a bit? It sounds like a very volatile situation. You don't want this to escalate. If there isn't, try scheduling short breaks in caregiving...and keep everybody in the loop. Prayer doesn't always cut it, not by itself, anyway. Reach out where you can, ask for help. You sound as though you need it.

She could have Sundowners now too. Yes it's part of Parkinson's . Can your Mom still walk?
