Hi @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member - one step hopefully closer to eliminating some or all of the tremor and shuffling symptoms of PD - very happy to report I have completed the testing and have qualified for the DBS surgery...

I have indeed seen Dr. Goodreau who recommended the DBS. I have had a DatScan and I go next Tuesday for pre-qualification testing to a doctor in Lansing. I am so hoping to eliminate some of my symptoms...

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member - Thanks, Bryan - I will research. We are closer to Lansing, but we do come to Battle Creek often. Thanks again...

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member - It's been some time since I've been on this site, but had communicated with you previously. I had my DBS surgery on February 27 of this year and have been very pleased with the results. My tremors, rigidity, pain and abilities to walk better, type, and write were relieved the day my leads and stimulator were turned on. It was truly a miracle. I have been left with a stronger inability to balance myself while walking, but have started physical therapy 3 weeks ago but haven't seen much difference since I started the therapy. I told my husband a week or so ago, that I have been feeling so much better that I almost completely forgot that this
journey of PD is going to get worse. With God's help, maybe I can be lucky and stay at this level - doesn't hurt to hope, huh? Hope all is well with you - would love for you to update me on your status as well.
