I was diagnosed in 1993 when I was 42. I'm 65 now. Had some rough times until medication was stabilized. Once meds were ok, no one could tell I had PD for 20 years. Things accelerated a bit in the next 3 years, but I still have fairly good control of symptoms. One thing you should be aware of, and your doctor should agree, is that PD treats everyone differently!!! What works for me, may be worthless for you. We may have some symptoms in common, but our meds (the type and/or dosage) would be miles apart.

I was diagnosed in October '15. I am almost 42 but had symptoms for a few years before that. So far symptoms have still been manageable - tremors, fatigue (probably from the insomnia)

My husband was diagnosed at 45 in 2000 he is now 61. At first it was ok with the medication. He continued to work ( he was in a professional position and travelled a lot) and drive but as the time got on maybe 4-5 years it became more difficult with the rigidity and fatigue. The company were very good even to the point of giving him a room where he could rest and at times. At times they would send me with him when he travelled so I could make sure he was going ok. He used to drive 2hours to work and 2 hours home and this took a toll on him. In 2006 he was made redundant. Still not sure if it was due to his condition but they gave some lame reason. He worked for a time part time but the driving became an issue. I never felt safe. Its been 16 years now and hasn't driven for about 7-8 years and he resents me from having his licence taken. . He's not the same man. I'm a 24/7 carer, slog my insides out but I wouldn't have him in a facility. This is what we have been dealt and we are dealing with it.
