I continue to experience massive off periods when eating certain foods. I can't tell if it is the meds I am taking or the PD itself. My off periods consist of not being able to walk, restless body syndrome, weakness in hands and arms, and foot cramps. it can last for an hour to all day. Any suggestions. also any remedies for the restless body syndrome and severe foot cramps?
thanks!
For cramps, I strongly advise 'Slow Mag' you can buy them over the counter, and take 3 every night.
To pperillo....I have hurting in my back and unbearable pain in my feet as well..like you said they are severe foot cramps...Has your Doctor ever prescribed '"Backlofen" a muscle relaxer, thats the generic name but I don't know the correct name for it..your pharmacist would know of them. They are so powerful that I just take a 1/2 tablet when I go to bed and it really makes you sleepy...you just pass out ....a lot of times in the afternoon I will take a 1/2 tablet for the intense pain..and the first thing I know 3 hours has slipped by. Also Gabapenton will help with the cramping of your legs and feet. I have been on that ever since I had shingles and it is a nerve repairer.
we have used a product called Stops leg cramps. It is a carefully balanced mixture of certified organic unfiltered raw apple cider vinegar, juice from the ginger plant and just the right amount of all natural garlic juice in special combination so as to achieve almost instant relief from leg, foot and hand cramps. Salt and gluten free. It works well for cramps, but not rigidity.
My wife has restless legs. She was advised to take Magnesium citrate. It helped some but Hawthorne helps much more.
Yes definitely try to avoid eating food high in protein at least 2 hours before and 1 hour after taking levodopa
