Thanks Dr. Chemical toxicity. Does 2yr chemotherapy fall in that category? One platinum based. b/c no one in my family with pd.???

In answer to your question, I believe that chemotherapy qualifies as a chemical " assailant". Especially given that you have no relatives with Parkinson's. What other " chemical exposures" have you had?
What did you do for a living? What did your parents do for a living?
My father was a carpenter. I used to spend hours in his workshop, talking to him and being taught by him. During those blessed times, I was exposed to oil-based paints, glues, resins, shellac and,varnish. All of which I am allergic to now. This was way before the t term, "environmental sickness" came into being. Especially in a small town in the Midwest!! I can remember being accused of drinking and coming to church drunk, by the minister of our church at that time. I was forbidden to speak of it to anyone, nor could we ask for testing to be done by the EPA. It was a bad time, but God worked it out for my good and the good of our congregation!
Look into your past. I am sure that you had some initial exposure to start the ball rolling,!

Count me in as an environmental proponent! I am convinced that my Parkinson's is a result of the environment and an overexposure to toxic chemicals. No one in my family had Parkinson's or anything resembling it! I can even point to the day when I had my "killer exposure"! See my story!😵😞

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member I once saw a map of the world with the rate of PD incidence on it - will see if i can find it. As i recall, north america, western europe and japan had much high per captia rates than anywhere else.
