Totally agree with everything said above.
Not a cure but can be life changing i would be furious if told i was lucky dbs is because i have pd dont want bloody pd no choice there.
I am 51 52 in December had probes implanted on March 7th battery on March 11th switched on March 13th in hospital 11 days home to sisters for one week in london as she is train ride from hospital i live 180 miles away in Lincoln. Dbs best decision i ever made it has given me back to me as pre Parkinson's and saved my marriage 20 pd pills per day are now 6. 3 madopar with 3 entacapone no Distonia no diskenisa no stiff painfull joints and virtually no tremor. Within a year from now distonia attacks would've put me in a wheelchair and personally i was getting weaker and weaker so fed up with it all i would have ended my life because i refuse to live in constant pain and suffering i dont deserve that no good people do.
This treatment can help so many others with and without pd since found out there's a list of other conditions it can help thats why i have decided to share my story so more can be informed there is an alternative to just popping pills and more pills. Good luck to any whom are post op hope it continues to be effictive and the best to any whom are pre op hope it works.

Lots of love BB XXXXX

I have had DBS twice but it did not work for me, but that is not to say that it doesn't work. My friend also has Parkie and he has also has had DBS and it has given him about 7 more good years. It is scary and I can understand how you are feeling, living with PD is scary, but I think you should go for it and I will keep you in my prays
