Mirapex Er
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

My neurologist prescribed mirapex er yesterday because my medication is not lasting. I'm scared to take the medicine is anyone else use this medication and did you do OK on it. Already get swelling in my legs this can cause that and it can cause compulsive Behavior but I'm wondering has anyone had sleep attacks on it. Your input would be greatly appreciated. He's also trying to get me on rytary to give me a smoother delivery of the dopamine without so much on and off.

i'm liking the Rytary which cuts back the number of times i take medicine from 90 minutes to approximately 4 hours. Occasionally slow to get me on once I've gone off. I'm hoping the aerosol levodopa will soon be available and will cover me in those off times. Requip - both oral and patch --nausea

I have been taking two mirapex ER every morning for several month's, and am very happy with the results. Much better than the plain mirapex.

Hi LouisFC, I am very surprised at the number of pills you are taking.Well, I take three but one is 2 in one
(Sinemet) carbadopa/levadopa 4 times a day and the other is Amantadine 2 times a day. I started on Mirapex in 2013 when I was first diagnosed but it made me too sleepy. I have always had a big sweet tooth
and that hasn't changed. I think you last remark is very good, Stay Positive.

I've been using Miripax about 2 years now. God has blessed me with a wonderful conservative Dr. As symptoms come and go instead of whipping out her Rx pad she "tweaks" the Miripax. Larger dose smaller dose. 3 a day 4 a day. She says it " shocks" my brain and the dopamine production. So far it works well. Good luck and here's to as few of meds as possible!

It has been quite a while since I was on Miripax but it worked well for me before needing to move on to something stronger. TRY IT -- how could it hurt you??
