@MyParkinsonsTeam users... My telemed Doctor from the University of Rochester told me in January, to be sure to use sun screen, wear a hat when going outside. He said PD-ers were prone to Melanoma. My Central NY Doctor, who I have been going to for over 13 years - never mentioned it. Now I don't know if the increased sensitivity is because of the disease, or the medications!! What ever... I take the warning seriously ... I hope those of you reading this also take it seriously!!
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, I was told, after 13 years with a neurologist, I was told by another neurologist to be careful in the sun, PD-ers were prone to melanoma!!!!
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member Hello. Yes I do use coconut oil and coconut milk and foods with coconut in them. My main interest in coconut oil is that bacteria cannot live in it. It chokes up the bacteria and they die. Also, I have extreme dry mouth and teeth so it won't get so dry if I coat my mouth with it. I also cook with it and brush my teeth with it. Additionally I lubricate my scalp and loosen any psoriasis scales and rid myself of seborrhea and eczema ....so yes, I am a big fan of coconut oil. I find it more than useful ...to me it is a necessity.🌹Sterling
I am taking 1300 mg of Curcumin twice daily, and it seems to be helping with my joints. This is the dosage recommended by my brother's cardiologist.
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member: I take 13 medications daily and have four that I take on an "as needed" basis. Most have a warning label that reads "Avoid direct sunlight while taking this medication" and quite a few read "Do not drink alcoholic beverages while taking this medication." How I miss the days of working in the flower gardens, then drinking a cold beer when I am finished.
