I have awakened to see a person twice that was not really there. I have not seen anyone mention this- it is quite scary. My dr. has prescribed Seroquel and 5 mg. of melatonin. I sleep better. Hoping never to experience e this again.
Definitely a first for me last night. Phil woke me up at 3am asking why there were lights on behind his head. He said it was pitch black when he fell asleep around 11pm. I assured him it was still pitch black, but he insisted there were lights on. He finally went back to sleep, I didn't......
My wife wakes up nearly every morning with the same questions....where is everyone?, who was that or where did that little boy go that was in our bed. Seems like ahe is always thinking/dream in of our youngest son who is almost 49. Doesn't take long to free her if the images. Just a little reassurance that were the only 2 in the house.
Some days are horrible! I was driving and Ed was dozing on and off. All of a sudden, he started screaming at me to get over, get over! I was on a very narrow country road and everything was good. All of a sudden, he was hysterical! Screaming and crying. Took me a while to get stopped and calm him down enough to tell me what was going on. He saw a man and little girl walking on the edge of the highway. I hit them. We must have sat there for an hour before he got calmed down enough to go on. I hate what this disease does to him!
I use to see dark shadows moving in my room when I went to bed. Now I just tell myself its not going to hurt me and close my eyes.
They get worse. My doctor has me on Rivasigmine and it has helped. It can be embarrassing if you make a comment about something that nobody else can see. If I have a problem during the night and see 'things' I turn on the light and everybody goes away. I've gotten to the point that I don't care about it ----- I wake my husband during the night and tell him that there is a bear in our living room. "How do you know?" He asks ."Because I ran over him with my wheelchair." I answer. We've had a lot of laughs.
