@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member Leon did the same with putting 2 inch blocks under his recliner. Now he doesn't have a problem getting out of the recliner.

Again GGman we all are with you. However, no matter your condition, we all have to MOVE (particularly with Parkinson's ) We can opt to move our arms in a wheel chair, take a Parkinson's course of exercises in a wheel chair near your home.and on and on. Check 2 places that can help you get the proper exercise, besides physical therapy. First the Dept of Aging in your area Second contact the National Parkinson's Foundation, now located in Silver Spring, Md.. They have consultants that can help you with any of your questions, along with free materials and manuals. Also, do some of your exercises in bed. When I had physical therapy it indeed helped me. Anyhow, good luck. This time, no excuses, get up and move any way, any where you can. Please GGman MOVE, MOVE, MOVE it may safe your life ! Hugs, Pam

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member I too have problems getting out of other people's chairs. I try to select a not to cushiony chair. I also carry a small travel pillow, if I know I could be sitting longer than usual. At home my husband put wood blocks under my recliner to lift it up. Adding the 2 in. wood made a complete difference for me. So much easier to get out of a my chair

Okay, GGman time to get some exercises you love to do ! For me it is YOGA. After one year of exercise and classes, I was able to stand without holing on to the arm rest of the chair I thought I would never be able to do this but golly when I was able everyone clapped ! Keep practicing and GGman, persist, persist. YOU CAN DO IT TOO ! Hugs, Pam
