My Neurologist And I Agreed To Start Requip.
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question đź’

We started with low dose 3 months ago and doubled it last month. It has caused a drop in my blood pressure.
Has anyone else had problems with Requip and low blood pressure?

Please be aware that Requip in high doses frequently causes issues with compulsive behavior, such as over-eating and gambling. I found the dose to be ok at 6 mg or less. When my neurologist had me up to 23 mg a day I had become a compulsive eater and gained a lot of weight. Once I weaned off Requip, I lost 70 pounds without dieting.

That is really scary. I take @Requip three times daily. All are equal dose. The blood pressure usually bottoms out after noon dose.
I have bought Gatorade to take with the dose hoping the fluids and electrolyte mitigate the effect.
My low blood pressure is not all that bad. Hope your husband and you get things straightened out

Barbara,
Hang in there. It is not easy to have got chose which diseases/symptoms to treat. Hopefully you van find a balance.
It good anytime you can reduce the Sinemet.
Hope you have a successful day.

Had another hypotensive episode-really, really low. Per cardiology, is now only one cardiac med and that is necessary. Neurology has decreased the Sinemet as the motor symptoms are fairly controlled. The hallucinations are almost constant and adding another medication is being resisted by my husband and the doctors. It seems like he/we have to decide which symptom we can contend with without jeopardizing other systems. Also he has advanced to a stage 5. Feeling overwhelmed now.

I also was started on higher dose of requip and decreased Sinnimet because I was having problems with drop in B/P. My B/P has been better
